My last wedding of 2016! Kaela and Sam were wed in Lancaster, PA at the Excelsior on a cool, rainy afternoon this past Sunday. This gorgeous couple has a timeless style. If you missed it, these two visited me in D.C. this summer for their engagement session. Kaela looked like she walked out of a J. Crew catalog and Sam totally rocked a green suit. It was fire.
When we pulled into Lancaster, there was torrential rain and very, very grey skies. However, the day very quickly progressed to be misty and magical. It was genuinely perfect! The Excelsior is such a unique wedding venue. Formerly an old German club, this three-story historic building has been completely renovated into an eclectic wedding venue that mixes the classic architecture with an industrial yet elegant vibe.
My favorite room in the building was on the second floor, where the ceremony was held. The textured white wall was such a gorgeous backdrop, and the huge windows gave us tons of natural light for some gorgeous portraits. It didn’t hurt that Sam and Kaela are incredibly gorgeous:
They’re perfect! I loved all the natural smiles and joy!
I have to give a special shout-out to Tasha, Kaela’s sister. Last fall, she was a bridesmaid in a wedding that I shot, and she remembered me for her sister’s wedding! There is no better compliment than someone referring a family member. Thank you so much, Tasha!
I am so excited to share this day with all of you! I’ve posted more than usual and included all of my favorites. Enjoy!
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Yates!
